Marimekko becomes a Mid Cap company; over 3,000 new shareholders during the year

Marimekko will move from Small Cap to Mid Cap on the Nasdaq Helsinki Stock Exchange. Nasdaq announced today, 18 December 2019, that the annual review of its Nordic market capitalisation (market cap) segments is completed and, as a result, Marimekko together with 24 other Nordic companies will change segment. The change is effective as of 2 January 2020.

“We are happy to note that the consistent execution of our long-term international growth strategy and the good development of our business are reflected in our share price. The increase in our shareholder base, over 3,000 new shareholders in the last twelve months, clearly demonstrates the investor interest in Marimekko. We will continue our determined efforts to increase the attractiveness of Marimekko in international stock markets as well”, says Tiina Alahuhta-Kasko, President & CEO of Marimekko.

Finnish private investors voted Marimekko as the most attractive small cap company in 2019 in a competition organised by the Finnish Foundation for Share Promotion, communications consultancy Kreab and Messukeskus Helsinki, Expo and Convention Centre.
