Finnish consumers rate Marimekko as the most sustainable fashion brand

Marimekko has been recognised as the industry winner in the fashion brand category according to Sustainable Brand IndexTM 2020 in Finland, a brand study on sustainability within the B2C market in Finland. Marimekko’s position in the overall ranking, covering 195 brands across industries, was 30.

The Sustainable Brand IndexTM is Europe’s largest independent brand study focused on sustainability. The results are based on perceptions by consumers, which makes this recognition especially valuable. Altogether 9,480 respondents aged 16-75 were surveyed in Finland, looking at how the brands are perceived and why they are perceived this way. Each brand was evaluated by at least 1,000 people. The study covers both social and environmental responsibility.

The brands to be evaluated are selected yearly based on criteria such as market share, net sales and general brand awareness. The other brands ranked in the same category this year were Adidas, Nike, Puma and Vila.
