Marketing Manager, North America

Marimekko is looking for an experienced Marketing Manager to join the North America Marimekko team in New York. The main responsibility is to support the growth ambitions of the company by driving the brand and sales forward through high level execution of the global marketing plan in North America. In this role, you´ll be planning, managing and coordinating the omnichannel marketing communications and ensuring the development in the brand awareness, target customer reach and engagement, traffic and sales.  This position reports to the Head of Global Marketing situated in Helsinki, Finland.

Requirements of the role:

  • Responsibility for designing an omnichannel local marketing and PR plan together with the local team on the basis of the global marketing plan, toolbox and guidelines
  • Working together with the local team to ensure that the local plan is consistent and all the elements (marketing, PR, VM, retail, digital) are aligned for seamless brand and customer experience
  • Planning, managing and coordinating all local marketing campaigns  
  • Responsibility for the Marimekko customer program execution locally according to global customer relationship strategy
  • Working with local PR according to the global guidelines
  • Monitor and report on effectiveness of marketing communications according to global guidelines
  • Ensuring that all North American marketing activities are on brand, speaking to the target customer and drive both the long term and short term objectives of the company

To be able to succeed as a Marketing Manager, we are looking for someone who:
  • Is an inspiring and result driven team player with excellent communication skills, execution power and positive ”can-do” attitude
  • Has 5+ years of experience in marketing management, including retail marketing (offline & online), loyalty programs and PR/social media
  • Understands how to develop and manage an iconic brand in global context
  • Has strong analytical and project management skills
  • Is a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Has solid understanding of digital marketing, especially social media channels in driving the business forward
  • Has excellent communication and negotiation skills in English – both written and verbal
  • Holds a valid permit to work in the US

Haemme tuloshakuista ja energistä vastuumyyjää työskentelemään Helsinki-Vantaan lentoaseman kahdessa Marimekko-myymälässä. Työsuhde on määräaikainen vanhempainvapaan sijaisuus ajoittuen 28.5.2018–30.4.2019 välille. Keskimääräinen viikkotyötuntimäärä on 35h/viikko.

Vastuumyyjänä tärkein tehtäväsi on myynti- ja asiakaspalvelutyö. Olet rohkea ja sinulla on aktiivinen ja positiivinen asenne, jolla hurmaat jokaisessa asiakaskohtaamisessa.  Nautit tuloksellisesta myyntityöstä ja toimintatapojasi ohjaa kaupallinen näkemys. Olet vahva osaaja myös myymälän taustatoiminnoissa, varastonhallinnassa sekä visuaalisuudessa.

Myyntityön lisäksi vastuualueisiin kuuluu myymäläpäällikön vuosilomien sijaisuudet, yksikkökohtaisesti määritellyt myymäläpäällikön avustavat työtehtävät, myynninjohtovastuu sekä työvuorosuunnittelu. Vastuumyyjänä odotamme sinulta vastuunkantokykyä, aitoa kiinnostusta ihmisten johtamista kohtaan sekä halua kasvaa tulevaisuudessa kohti esimiestehtäviä.   • Vähintään 5 vuoden kokemusta vaativista myynnin- ja asiakaspalvelun työtehtävistä

  • Kaupallista koulutusta tai muuta tehtävään sopivaa koulutusta

  • Hyviä yhteistyötaitoja, joustavuutta ja paineensietokykyä

Logistics Coordinator

Logistics Coordinator

We are looking for an experienced Logistics Coordinator (invoicing and export forwarding) to join our logistics team in Helsinki. The position is a temporary maternity leave substitute starting preferably in late May 2018.

As our Export Logistic Coordinator you are responsible for providing invoices and other required documentation for export shipments together with your colleague. You are the first hand contact to transportation companies and you co-operate actively with them in your daily work. You evaluate and choose best transportation methods based on Marimekko´s principles.

You are an efficient multitasker and remain positive even under pressure. You are familiar with special documentation requirements, especially when shipping to USA and Australia, and you communicate with global Marimekko teams on weekly basis.

Main responsibilities

  • Provide invoices and export documentation to shipments outside EU

  • Coordinate different types of shipments according to customer requirements globally


To succeed in this position, we are looking for someone with

  •  Suitable education background (eg. Bachelor of Business Administration)
  • Experience in export forwarding and foreign trade, minimum 3 years in relevant role

  • Fluent spoken and written Finnish and English

  • Good coordination and problem solving skills

  • Excellent team player with right attitude

We are looking for a business-minded Magento Developer to join and strengthen our team in Helsinki. The right person for this position is a pragmatic programmer who sees the big picture; feels at home on the back-end side in building code and improving our software development process, but at the same time understands the beauty of design in the front-end and aims to create reliable, fast and usable services that also look nice.

In our team you will work closely with our digital business, IT and graphical design teams. Running a webshop is a holistic effort, where technology is harnessed to support quick and efficient business decisions. Good technical knowledge of web technologies (Javascript, HTML, CSS), understanding integrations between different systems and previous experience in building modern and responsive web services is a vital combination of skills, which helps you succeed in this role. Further, solid understanding and ability to work with Magento platform is a necessity. You are comfortable with working in a fast-changing environment with often strict time constraints and are motivated to constantly learn more about web development. Great communication skills both in Finnish and English are also a must.

Your area of responsibility includes:

  • Plan together with the internal teams new solutions to fulfill the business needs of both B2C and B2B storefronts / of our online stores in Magento platform.

  • Own the architecture planning of our web services.

  • Build, test and execute new features and services.

  • Give support to the online store managers to make sure the business is up and running.


In order to be successful in helping to take our digital business to the next level, you need to:

  •  Preferably have 3+ years of experience as a software developer
  • Preferably be a Magento certified developer

  • Be detail-oriented, pragmatic team-player with urge to learn new things and put them into practice

  • Write maintainable and testable code

  • Have an eye for a great design and usability

  • Have a positive mindset and willingness to work as a problem-solver in fast-paced, growth driven, international environment
